We're Ready. Are You?
After months of development, LessonLight is ready for real classrooms. But we're not launching to everyone—we're starting with 50 secondary school teachers who will help us refine the platform and prove that AI-powered lesson planning actually works in practice.
If you teach secondary school (UK Curriculum or IB), speak English, and want to reclaim hours of your week, this is your chance to be part of something new.
What Is LessonLight?
LessonLight is an AI teaching assistant that handles the time-consuming parts of lesson planning so you can focus on your students.
Here's What It Does
- Chat-based lesson planning: Like ChatGPT, but trained specifically on education. Ask for a lesson plan, get one in minutes.
- Curriculum-aligned content: Supports UK National Curriculum and IB. Every lesson aligns to your standards.
- Instant differentiation: Generate adapted versions for different learning levels without starting from scratch.
- Resource generation: Worksheets, assessments, activities—all editable and ready to use.
- Learns your style: Tell it about your classes once ("Year 9 are chatty on Fridays"), and it remembers.
- Proactive planning: Set your timetable and it prepares lessons ahead of time.
What Makes It Different
Most AI tools give you generic content. LessonLight is built for teachers:
- Trained on UK and IB curricula
- Understands secondary school contexts
- Generates editable resources (not locked PDFs)
- Remembers your preferences and class nuances
- Works through conversation, not complicated forms
Why a Private Beta?
We could launch to thousands of teachers tomorrow. But we'd rather launch to 50 teachers this month and get it right.
What We're Testing
- Real classroom fit: Does this actually save time in your workflow?
- Content quality: Are the lessons good enough to use with minimal editing?
- Curriculum accuracy: Does it truly understand UK and IB requirements?
- User experience: Is the chat interface intuitive for busy teachers?
- Edge cases: What happens with mixed-ability classes, SEN students, or unusual topics?
What We Need From You
Honest feedback. We're not looking for cheerleaders—we're looking for teachers who will tell us what works and what doesn't.
Specifically:
- Use LessonLight for at least 3 lessons per week
- Provide feedback via short weekly surveys (5 minutes)
- Join optional feedback sessions (30 minutes, once a month)
- Report bugs or issues as you encounter them
- Share what you'd change or improve

The Reality Check
Let's be honest about what this is and isn't.
This Is Beta Software
You will encounter bugs. Features will change. Some things won't work perfectly. That's the point—we need to find and fix these issues before launching publicly.
It Won't Replace You
LessonLight handles logistics. You handle teaching. The AI generates lesson plans; you bring them to life with your expertise, relationships, and classroom presence.
It Requires English
The platform currently only works in English. We're planning multilingual support, but it's not ready yet.
You'll Need to Give Feedback
This isn't passive free access. We need your input to make the platform better. If you don't have time for weekly surveys and occasional feedback sessions, this might not be the right fit.

Questions We're Getting
"Do I need to be tech-savvy?"
If you can use WhatsApp or ChatGPT, you can use LessonLight. The interface is conversational—you just chat with your AI assistant.
"What if I teach multiple curricula?"
Perfect! We especially want teachers who work across UK and IB, or who teach different exam boards.
"Can I share this with colleagues?"
Not during beta. We're limiting to 50 teachers so we can provide proper support and gather meaningful feedback. After beta, you'll be first in line to invite colleagues.
"What happens after 6 months?"
You'll get discounted pricing to continue using LessonLight. We'll share pricing details during beta based on your feedback about what's fair.
"What if it doesn't work for me?"
No problem. You can stop using it anytime. We just ask that you tell us why so we can improve.
Why We're Building This
We've talked to hundreds of teachers. The same themes come up again and again:
- "I spend more time planning than teaching"
- "Differentiation is impossible with 30 students"
- "I can't find good resources for my subject"
- "Sunday nights are for lesson planning, not family"
- "I love teaching, but the workload is unsustainable"
LessonLight exists to fix this. Not by replacing teachers, but by handling the mechanical parts of planning so you can focus on the human parts of teaching.
But we can't build it alone. We need real teachers, in real classrooms, telling us what actually works.
